About us

Our Scout Group

The 5th Whitley Bay is a very active Scout Group based in Cullercoats. With a membership of over 120 members we are the biggest Scout Group in North Tyneside.

We are part of the Whitley Bay Scout District and Northumberland Scout County.

The Group is run by volunteer leaders who work to provide a fun filled programme of activities for boys and girls from 6 to 14 years of age.

The Group was founded in 1908 at St George's Church, Cullercoats, We maintain a strong relationship with St Georges but welcome members come from all faiths and those with no faith. Check out more about our history.

Our own headquarters serves as a base for our Scouting where meetings are held each week.

The Group is a Registered Charity and is managed by the Group Executive who are our Trustees. Each year the Group holds its AGM where accounts are published and new Trustees elected.
